Tradutor juramentado
Brazil's sworn public translator, required for legal instruments submitted to ANVISA.
What it means
A tradutor público juramentado is a Brazilian public translator sworn in before a Junta Comercial. They are the only translators authorized to translate legal instruments, powers of attorney, corporate resolutions, and apostilled documents for official use in Brazil. Technical documents such as protocols and IFUs do not require a tradutor juramentado, but they must still be accurate and certified.
Why it matters for LATAM submissions
ANVISA and other Brazilian agencies reject legal instruments not translated by a tradutor juramentado. Knowing the boundary between legal and technical documents prevents rework.
