Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE)

Human editing of machine-translated output to reach the quality level required for regulated use.

What it means

MTPE combines machine translation with expert human editing. In regulated pharma work, MTPE is acceptable only for internal or reference content; ICFs, sworn translations, and regulator-facing dossier documents remain human-led with documented QC.

Why it matters for LATAM submissions

Submitting MTPE output as a sworn or certified translation is a professional-ethics violation in most LATAM jurisdictions and is grounds for rejection.
